Although there are no ideal solutions to getting rid of cellulite altogether, there are many alternative therapies you can try which may remove cellulite, inexpensively and without having to leave the comfort of your own surroundings.

As an example, treating cellulite with essential oils is a home remedy alternative many women turn to. While it usually doesn't leave a complete cure, it can help smooth your skin's bumpy look. In fact, if you use it along with massage in the areas where you have the most cellulite trouble, you're likely to get great results.

Of course, you need to know about your skin condition prior to trying any cellulite reducing treatment. When the connective tissues underneath the skin turn weak, fat pockets are allowed to push to the surface of the skin and this is what causes cellulite. It can happen for a number of reasons, but help is at hand and quite regularly a change can be put into practice to remove existing cellulite effectively.

Working With Essential Oils For Cellulite Reduction

Essential oils can be used in two basic ways to reduce cellulite. As mentioned above, oils can be used as part of a massage routine or alternatively they can be added to your bathwater while taking a bath. Not only will essential oils improve your circulation, but they are also likely to prevent you from holding on to surplus fluids in your skin.

The range of essential oils varies from the citrus kinds such as orange, lemon and grapefruit, to other popular oils like sage, rosemary, lemon, lavender, juniper and cypress.

In order to put together a skin smoothing combination you have to select the massage oil you are going to use as a base. Then add five drops each of four chosen essential oils. As soon as you have finished showering, apply the mixture to the areas of your body affected by cellulite.

The oil mixture should be massaged firmly into the cellulite prone areas. Take care not to apply the oils close to varicose veins as this may not be safe. Keep in mind that you are using this cellulite reducing method to remove toxins from underneath the skin's surface and to condition your skin.

If you decide to try the method of using essential oils while bathing, you can simply add three drops of each of your four favorite oils directly into your bathwater. Using a loofah while in the bath or a body brush just before you get in will work the same way as massaging the skin.

It is well worth giving essential oils a try to lessen cellulite. This practice can be carried out at home and it is easy and enjoyable to do. However, if you are pregnant or intending to be in the near future, cellulite removal of any description should not be undertaken without first seeking the advice of your physician.

Bear in mind, not every method of cellulite reduction works for everyone. It's possible you may have to try a few different therapies, some at the same time as others, to reap the best results.
